“Remember not the former things,
nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.”
I am embarking on this journey to Kenya for many reasons. Mainly, it’s an opportunity to share God’s love through service to the ends of the earth, literally. And frankly I’m tired of living comfortably. I really desire to know what it’s like to really have nothing, so that Christ may become everything. My hope is that the Lord will manifest Himself in ways we’ve only read about–that He will deepen our faith and will teach us to hear His voice and act in obedience to it. I want to see Him blow us away.
My expectations probably seem somewhat vague, but really, I can have all these expectations, but the reality is God has plans of His own. I know that the work we do in Kenya is far more important than the things I anticipate. I just have faith that He will do the new thing in its entirety, and He will do it all for His glory.
“I see a generation rising up to take their place
With selfless faith, with selfless faith.
I see a near revival, starting as we pray and seek,
We’re on our knees, we’re on our knees.”
