We were asked to write a blog about how we felt before leaving on this mission trip. Here is what I am expecting…

I am anticipating that God is going to use all of our team to bring others to Him and teach us all about His mighty love and compassion.  I believe He is going to particularly move in my heart, and teach me a love for other people, and increase my desire to see others come to know Him, too.  I can’t wait to see how He is going to use us to minister-I know that I am going to be stretched and grow more than I ever have before. I am sure that I will be out of my comfort zone frequently, and He is going to reinforce my trust in Him to help me minister effectively.  I believe God is going to show Himself strong for us, and use us to change many people’s lives for eternity. He is also going to use other people to teach us more about Himself 🙂 I am sure we won’t alway be comfortable, and probably tired, too, but He is going to use us in ways we have never been before.

I am a little worried that I won’t take advantage of all the opportunities God is going to give us while we’re there, and I’m sure I’ll have to keep checking myself against Him and His standards 🙂 I can’t wait to see what all is going to happen!

  1. Dasha,

It is great hearing about your expectations. Love is an interesting thing. How is God teaching you to love right now? I’d love to hear about it!

I’m sure I won’t always be comfortable, either, Dasha. I expect I’ll be tired, too. But keep in mind that each day, God will only give us what He expects us to walk through with Him. He is very kind and patient! Can’t wait to journey with you in Kenya!

    Your Leader,

    Shaye
