Hello, new friends! I thought I’d let you in on a few things about me.
Right now, I’m in a program at Adventures in Missions called “Community Life”. I am living with 10 other women and learning to share all aspects of life: money, time, Bible studies, heart-stuff – with these people. For a very long time, I’ve desired to know what God intends for intimate, Christ-like relationships. I’m learning that community is hard. It takes alot of work. But the reward is great. I am letting people know me in ways that are scary. But man, is it good to be known. A few weeks ago, we went on a mission trip to Philadelphia. These are two pictures we took while we were there! In the jumping picture, we are on the Rocky steps! I am the one on the far right.
As part of the program, I work in the Admissions department at AIM. This means that I have already been getting to know some of you! On the wall to the right of my desk, we have giant tack boards that house the pictures of every participant in the field. Your lovely faces are there, too! So I get to see each of you daily and pray about our upcoming shared adventure!
Other than that, I’m 26 years old and have a degree in Biology. A number of years back, God began to teach me that His will is greater than mine and He put in my heart a desire to seek His will. So far, it has been a journey I never could have scripted on my own. God has put in me a desire for adventure and purpose; that is the road He has been faithful to keep me on. So, I have found myself living in Georgia and I’m waiting to see what adventure He is preparing me for. Will it be school? Marriage? Overseas Missions? I can’t wait to find out!
Meanwhile, I am anticipating great things for our shared adventure. Perhaps God will be faithful and merciful to uncover His heart and His plans for us as a team and us as individuals. My desire is to take great delight in the journey. Who is with me???
